Days 1-2 : UK - Venice (Italy)

Fly from Leeds-Bradford to Venice and transfer to the Rialto Hotel or similar for a 2-night stay. Venice comprises of more than 100 separate islands laced together by a network of canals. Discover this magnificent city with its impressive Baroque architecture, the Basilica San Marco and the Doge's Palace.

Day 4 : Koper (Slovenia)

Koper is the gateway to the beautiful Istrian region. Join the guided walking tour to visit the museum, Pretorian Palace and the impressive Cathedral of the Assumption; see the world-famous Lipizzaner horses on a visit to the Lipica Stud Farm; tour the immense Skocjan Caves then sample Slovenian wines; or travel to the historic town of Piran for a walking tour followed by a wine tasting at the largest wine cellar in Slovenia.

Day 5 : Split (Croatia)

Split is Dalmatia's capital and home to the magnificent Diocletian's Palace Complex, used as a filming location for the TV spectacular Game of Thrones. Enjoy a walking tour of the city and a trip to ancient Salona to see the remains of temples, amphitheatres and baths from the 3rd and 4th centuries. Alternatively, take a scenic drive to spectacular Trogir for a walking tour, followed by a stop at the Old Mill for a snack and entertainment by traditional Dalmatian singers.

Day 6 : Bari (Italy)

Bari has a long history as an important port city for ancient Italy. See the city's medieval castle, Romanesque cathedral and ancient defensive walls on a guided walking tour; enjoy olive oil tasting on a trip to beautiful Ostuni or Bisceglie; explore the extraordinary Castellana Caves and the seaside town of Polignano a Mare; or travel to Matera to tour the cave dwellings and subterranean churches.

Day 7 : Argostoli (Greece)

Argostoli is the capital of the beautiful island of Kefalonia, where Captain Corelli's Mandolin was based. Join the tour of the island which features a boat trip on the underground Melissani Lake, a visit to pristine Myrtos Beach and the picturesque village of Fiskardo. Alternatively join the excursion to the 16th-century St Andrew's Monastery and Robola winery, or explore the dramatic Drogarati Cave.

Day 8 : Catania (Sicily)

Catania is home to ancient churches, castles and elegant palazzos. Drive through amazing scenery to one of Mt Etna's inactive craters for stunning views of the island's coastline and national park or enjoy a wine tasting at the famous Villa San Michele estate.

Day 10 : Civitavecchia (Italy)

From Civitavecchia, explore Rome's historic treasures including St Peter's Basilica, the Coliseum and the Trevi Fountain. Drive to the resort town of Anguillara on Lake Bracciano then sample local products at a winery; join a cycling tour of Tarquinia's impressive architecture followed by an ice cream sampling at a family-owned gelataria; or learn about the Roman Empire with a visit to the archaeological site of Ostia Antica.

Day 11 : Livorno

Livorno is the gateway to Tuscany and the Renaissance treasures of Italy. Enjoy a trip to Florence's spectacular monuments including the Piazza del Duomo, Giotto Bell Tower and Franciscan Basilica or discover Tuscan art and history with a walking tour of scenic Lucca. Alternatively, see Pisa's famous Leaning Tower and magnificent Duomo or enjoy a wine tasting in the heart of the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

Day 12 : Monte Carlo (Monaco)

Monte Carlo is home to the famous Grand Corniche and the magnificent pink Grimaldi Palace. Perhaps join the walking tour which passes the Oceanographic Museum, Cathedral and Palace Square then travel by coach along part of the Grand Prix. Alternatively discover the jewels of the Cote d'Azur on an excursion visiting the charming village of Eze and medieval Nice or join the trip to glamorous Cannes, the perfume village of Grasse and the walled village of St Paul de Vence.

Day 13 : Marseille (France)

Learn about Marseille's history on a drive through the Old Quarter, before heading to the beautiful town of Cassis, nestled at the foot of a medieval castle. Alternatively, see the sights of UNESCO-listed Avignon including the magnificent Palace of the Popes, or trace the footsteps of Vincent Van Gogh in St. Remy and Arles.

Day 14 : Palamos (Spain)

From Palamos it is possible to explore the Costa Brava to see why its beaches and coves inspired Salvador Dali, Marc Chagall and other artists. Discover the medieval villages of Pals, Peratallada and Bisbal and their ancient castles, palaces and churches; join a guided walking tour of Girona's atmospheric Old Quarter; or explore Besalu's 13th-century Jewish district, Romanesque church and 12th-century bridge.

Day 15 : Barcelona - UK

Disembark Seven Seas Explorer in Barcelona and transfer to the airport for your return flight to Leeds-Bradford
