Forward Itinerary

Day 1 : UK - Lyon (France)

Fly from Leeds-Bradford or Manchester to Lyon and embark your ship. Spend time at leisure.

Day 2 : Lyon

Enjoy a guided tour of UNESCO-listed Lyon, beginning with a drive up Fourviere Hill for stunning views. Continue to the Basilica of Notre Dame, passing the magnificent St Jean Cathedral and the Palace of Justice. Continue on foot through the traditional cobbled streets of Vieux Lyon (Old Town) making time to try the cuisine and shop for souvenirs. (B,L,D)

Day 3 : Lyon

Enjoy a drive through the rolling hills of Beaujolais and visit the famous Moulin-a-Vent, a windmill that gives its name to a prestigious wine region. Learn about wine making in a small museum then head to a wine cellar for a tasting. (B,L,D)

Day 4 : Vienne - Tournon

Learn about Vienne's ancient Roman past on a guided walking tour, with highlights including the Temple of Augustus and Livia, and the Gothic Cathedral of St Maurice. Enjoy time at leisure before afternoon cruising to Tournon. After dinner, perhaps enjoy a walk along the river bank. (B,L,D)

Day 5 : Tournon - Viviers

Enjoy a ride on the Train de L'Ardeche through the deep gorges of the Ardeche plateau, before returning to the ship for lunch. Cruise to the beautiful town of Vivers. After dinner, take an evening stroll through the Old Town with its spectacular architecture. (B,L,D)

Day 6 : Avignon

This morning there is a guided walking tour of Avignon. Explore the historic centre and stop at the picturesque Pont d'Avignon before walking the Place de L'Horloge. Continue to the Palace of Popes which served as a papal residence, church, palace and fortress. There is an optional tour of Chateauneuf-du-Pape which includes a wine tasting. (B,L,D)

Day 7 : Arles

Join a walking tour of Arles which showcases its architecture. Discover the impressive Roman ruins, including Les Arenes which holds an impressive 20,000 people, plus Romanesque monuments such as the Church of Saint-Trophime. (B,L,D)

Day 8 : Avignon - UK

Once breakfast is over, disembark and head to the Marseille airport for your return flight to Leeds-Bradford or Manchester. (B)

Day 1 : UK - Avignon (France)

Fly from Leeds-Bradford or Manchester to Marseille and transfer to Avignon to embark the ship. Spend time at leisure or join the welcome walk. (D)

Day 2 : Arles

Discover the architectural treasures of Arles on a walking tour, including Les Arenes, an arena which holds an impressive 20,000 people, plus Romanesque monuments such as the Church of Saint-Trophime. (B,L,D)

Day 3 : Avignon

This morning, stroll through the historic centre of Avignon stopping at the spectacular Pont d'Avignon and the Place de L'Horloge. Continue to the Palace of Popes for a guided tour and admire the ornate architecture. There is an optional tour to Chateauneuf-du-Pape which includes a wine tasting. (B,L,D)

Day 4 : Viviers

Admire medieval and Renaissance buildings on a walking tour of Viviers’ Old Town. Once a 5th-century Roman settlement, today Viviers is overlooked by the 12th-century St. Vincent Cathedral. This afternoon, cruise to Tournon. (B,L,D)

Day 5 : Tournon

This afternoon, step on board the Train de L'Ardeche for a ride through the deep gorges of the Ardeche plateau. Later, return to your ship for dinner as we cruise to Vienne. (B,L,D)

Day 6 : Lyon

Your tour of Lyon starts with a drive to the top of Fourviere Hill and a visit to the Basilica of Notre Dame, passing St Jean Cathedral and the Palace of Justice. Continue on foot through the cobbled streets of Vieux Lyon (Old Town). (B,L,D)

Day 7 : Lyon
