Heading to quaint Torshavn, one of the smallest capital cities in the world. Admire the traditional turf-roofed cottages and breathtaking mountain scenery during your time here before sailing to Reykjavik where you'll have the best chance of seeing the spectacular Northern Lights, one of nature's greatest wonders. Optional excursions include the famous Golden Circle with its spouting geysers and bubbling mud pools, and the iconic geothermal Blue Lagoon.

Perhaps head to the Myvatn Nature Baths during your time in Akureyri then explore charming Kirkwall, capital of the Orkney archipelago and dominated by the spectacular St Magnus Cathedral.

Torshavn is one of the smallest capital cities in the world and was once the site of an annual Viking gathering. Perhaps explore the old part of the town which boasts characteristic red buildings with turf-covered roofs clustered on a narrow peninsula. The wild and dramatic landscape of the Faroe Islands is a magnificent backdrop to optional excursions showing how islanders live on these remote and unspoilt islands.

Day 5 : Reykjavik (Iceland)

Iceland's fascinating capital, Reykjavik, is home to stunning mosaics, impressive sculptures and colourful houses. Take the opportunity to explore the Golden Circle, renowned for its lava fields, mud pools and spouting geysers. The optional excursion also includes the famous Blue Lagoon.

Day 7 : Akureyri
