Day 1 : Paris (France)
Fly from Manchester to Paris and embark AmaLyra. Welcome Dinner on board this evening. (D)
Day 2 : Les Andelys
Tour Chateau Gaillard, the former stronghold of Richard the Lionheart. The more active may wish to hike to the castle from the banks of the Seine. Alternatively join a guided bike tour through the picturesque town of Les Andelys. (B,L,D)
Day 3 : Le Havre
After a morning cruising along the Seine, arrive at Le Havre from where you can visit the picturesque port of Honfleur which inspired many artists including Monet. Alternatively, join a full-day excursion to Honfleur and the Pays d'Auge region of Normandy during which you can drive through Beamont-en-Auge and Pont l'Eveque and be treated to cheese and Calvados tastings. This afternoon, join a city tour of La Havre or explore the city on a bike. (B,L,D)
Day 4 : Le Havre - Caudebec-en-Caux
Today choose from a full 'D-Day Remembered' excursion to the US sector, visiting the village of Arromanches, the US Cemetery and Omaha Beach, or tour Gold and Juno beaches with visits to Pegasus Bridge and the Canadian cemetery. Alternatively, visit some of the most magnificent abbeys in the region as you journey along the Romanesque Normandy Abbey Route. Later, cruise to Caudebec-en-Caux and enjoy a visit to the fascinating Seine Museum. (B,L,D)
Day 5 : Rouen
Enjoy a walking tour of medieval Rouen and see the imposing cathedral which was painted by Monet, and walk to the square where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. Spend time at leisure or take the guided bike tour. There is also the option to explore the Jewish area of Rouen. You can choose to join the Tastes of Normandy tour to sample local delicacies including chocolate, cheese and cider. (B,L,D)
Day 6 : Vernon - La Roche-Guyon
Cruise to Vernon to visit Giverny where you can tour the house and beautiful gardens of Claude Monet which featured in some of his most famous paintings or perhaps visit the palace and enchanting gardens of Chateau de Bizy. Alternatively, enjoy a guided bike tour of the region. This evening, visit the quaint village of La Roche-Guyon and admire the pretty architecture as you stroll along the Seine. (B,L,D)
Day 7 : Conflans
Travel to Auberge Ravoux in the heart of Auvers-sur-Oise, the last home of artist Vincent van Gogh. His spirit still lingers in his former attic rooms at the Ravoux Inn. The mere 70 days Van Gogh spent in Auvers-sur-Oise were astonishingly prolific as he painted more than 70 works here before his death. Or enjoy the youthful energy of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, with its museums, bookstores, churches and galleries. If you prefer something more active, strap on your helmet and pedal around the city of Conflans. Later in the day, relax on the Sun Deck or on your balcony as the ship takes a scenic cruise on its way to Paris. (B,L,D)
Day 8 : Paris
This morning disembark in Paris after breakfast and transfer to the airport for your return flight to Manchester. (B)
