Embark Sea Princess in Brisbane and sail to Airlie Beach, the gateway to the stunning Great Barrier Reef.

Cairns is the capital of Far North Queensland and is a great base for exploring the vast rainforest which covers most of Queensland. Port Douglas provides easy access to both the rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef, with opportunities to visit wildlife sanctuaries to learn more about the animals that live in this region. Enjoy a cruise around the uninhabited Willis Island which is surrounded by colourful reefs and is home to a wide variety of seabirds.

Days 1-2 : UK - Sydney (Australia)

Fly from Manchester to Sydney.

Days 3-5 : Sydney

Arrive in Sydney and transfer to the hotel for a 3-night stay. There is plenty of time to explore the city's iconic landmarks including the Opera House, Bondi Beach and the Harbour Bridge.

Day 6 : Brisbane

Transfer to Brisbane and embark Sea Princess.

Day 7 : At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 8 : Airlie Beach

Airlie Beach is the gateway to the colourful reefs, turquoise waters and amazing beaches of the Whitsunday Archipelago. Perhaps explore the islands on a traditional tall ship cruise, experience the spectacular Great Barrier Reef on a visit to a pontoon where there is the chance to snorkel and swim, or discover Australia's wildlife on a crocodile cruise along the Proserpine River followed by an Aussie-style barbecue.

Day 9 : Cairns

Cairns is the capital of Far North Queensland. The state of Queensland covers a vast area, most of which remains uninhabited and covered with rainforest. For those who wish to learn more about the heritage of the region why not visit the Rainforestation Nature Park to experience Aboriginal culture, or travel to Kuranda village by scenic rail and glide over the rainforest canopy in a gondola.

Day 10 : Port Douglas

Port Douglas is located between the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area and the Great Barrier Reef, providing easy access to both the rainforest and reef. Optional excursions include a catamaran trip to the stunning Great Barrier Reef; a visit to a wildlife sanctuary for lunch surrounded by colourful lorikeets; and a cruise along the Daintree River to the edge of the rainforest followed by a visit to the Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary.

Day 11 : Willis Island

Cruise around Willis Island as a knowledgeable lecturer points out significant sites including the weather monitoring station hosted by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. The island is surrounded by thriving reefs where many creatures make their homes, and the island itself is home to many species of seabirds, including Masked, Brown and Red-footed Boobies.

Day 12 : At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea.

Day 13 : Brisbane - UK

Disembark Sea Princess and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.

Day 14 : UK

Arrive back in the UK.
